In harsh environments far from the grid such as deserts, oceans, and polar regions, stable power and utilities are lifelines for oil and gas operations.
CME's Oilfield Power & Utilities Solutions provide a full series of modular, skid-mounted power generation, power distribution, heat exchange, fluid storage, and processing equipment, with optional integration of solar and other green energy systems.
We ensure your drilling rigs, production facilities, and living camps receive continuous, efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly energy and utility supplies, significantly reducing fuel consumption and carbon footprint so you can focus on core production operations without worry.
· Energy Shortage and High Cost at Frontier Sites: Grid unavailability forces reliance on diesel generators, leading to difficulties in fuel supply, high costs, and emission control pressures.
· Long Deployment Period and Poor Flexibility: Traditional power plants and facility constructions are time-consuming and labor-intensive, unable to adapt to the rapid mobilization pace of exploration and development or rolling production needs.
· Low Operating Efficiency and High Maintenance Costs: Generator sets operating under mismatched loads lead to high fuel consumption; waste heat is not recovered; dispersed equipment layouts complicate O&M.
· Environmental and Carbon Reduction Pressures: Traditional diesel-powered electricity has high carbon intensity, facing increasingly stringent environmental regulations and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) investment requirements.
· Harsh Environmental Adaptability Requirements: High temperature, extreme cold, high humidity, salt spray, dust, and other environments pose severe challenges to equipment reliability.
We design and integrate the concepts of Energy Center and Utility Island, standardizing and containerizing traditional power generation, renewable energy (solar), power distribution, thermal management, and fluid handling modules to enable rapid assembly, flexible expansion, and centralized intelligent control.
· Power Generation and Microgrid System: From 200kW to 2MW containerized diesel/natural gas generator sets, silent power stations, which can be paralleled to form microgrids. Integrated solar photovoltaic systems (including PV panel arrays, energy storage batteries, and smart controllers) realize diesel-solar-storage intelligent complementarity, maximizing clean energy utilization and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
· Power Distribution and Control System: Integrated substation skids, motor control centers (MCCs), synchronization cabinets, and advanced Energy Management Systems (EMS). EMS intelligently dispatches output from diesel generator sets and solar systems to optimize system efficiency, ensuring safe and economical power allocation and monitoring.
· Heat Exchange and Temperature Management System: Shell-and-tube/plate heat exchanger skids, thermal oil heaters, steam generators, air coolers, used for process medium heating/cooling, wellbore insulation, and living area heating.
· Public Medium Treatment and Storage: Fuel filtration and supply skids, compressed air systems, water treatment units, storage tanks, ensuring safe and clean supply of all auxiliary media at the operation site.
· Rapid Deployment and Exceptional Mobility: All modules meet standard container transportation size and weight limits, allowing rapid delivery to site via sea, land, or air, achieving arrive and plug-in-use, reducing infrastructure setup time by more than 60%. Solar panel arrays can use quick-installation bracket systems to adapt to site conditions.
· High Fuel Efficiency and Low-Carbon Operation: Generator sets adopt electronic injection technology, maintaining low fuel consumption across a wide load range. Through Combined Heat and Power (CHP) design recovering engine waste heat for heating, overall energy efficiency increases to over 80%. Integrated solar systems can substitute or assist diesel generation during sufficient daylight hours, reducing fuel consumption and corresponding carbon emissions by up to 30%.
· Fully Integrated Intelligent Control: Through central control skids and Advanced Energy Management Systems (EMS), all power and utility modules are centrally monitored, intelligently dispatched, remotely operated, and diagnosed for faults, enabling unmanned or minimally manned operation, reducing O&M manpower requirements and safety risks.
· Built for Extreme Environments: Generator sets are equipped with high-altitude/cold weather kits; all skid bodies have IP55+ protection ratings with positive pressure explosion-proof and air conditioning systems. Solar components select high-reliability products resistant to wind-blown sand, high temperature, and PID (Potential Induced Degradation), ensuring reliable startup and operation in environments from -50°C to 55°C.
· Drilling Rig Power Package:
Providing main power for electric drilling rigs, integrating multiple high-power generator sets, paralleling cabinets, harmonic mitigation devices, and DCS interface for drilling rig control systems. Solar systems can be integrated to power camp living loads, lighting, and other auxiliary loads, achieving green power separation.
· Remote Wellsite Production & Living Support:
Equipped with medium & small power generator units and solar-diesel hybrid microgrid systems, it delivers stable round-the-clock power for wellhead electric heat tracing, metering stations, communication relays and living quarters, effectively cutting fuel supply cycles and operational expenses.
No matter where your project is located, CME can design, build, and deliver a customized, traditional and green energy-integrated power and utility infrastructure solution, helping you achieve cost-effectiveness and low-carbon goals while ensuring operational reliability.
